Faced with the daunting task of remodeling our first house – on a very, very tight budget, I quickly started to break out in a cold sweat. But Why? This was my DREAM job, and as a Creative Director for over 15 years this should have been a breeze.

 

I quickly grabbed my tape measure, took pictures of all the rooms and got to work. By redesigning room by room on my computer, my vision came to life. Some of the spaces needed a complete interior remodel while others just needed a refresh with a nod to my style which I came to coin as "Budget Contemporary".

 

My objective was to use all the current furniture I had and then add pieces throughout the house when we had the time and money. All the apps I tried didn’t seem to create the detail I needed or provide any guidance. They also limited my selections to only brands they sold which wasn't always the best option for me.

 

After being hounded by my enthusiast friends and very supportive family, I started Courtney & Mae Virtual Home Design with the goal to help all of my clients envision their dream spaces by seeing what they looked like before they committed to buying anything that didn't necessary work or they didn't need. The virtual renderings not only saved them time and money, it also provided the reassurance that their choices would successfully enhance their sanctuaries without having to use an expensive interior design service.
